Chapter 40: The Trap Unveiled
Mariana decided not to return to her hotel room. Instead, she wandered the vibrant streets, taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling city.
Finally, her stomach rumbling, she spotted a charming little restaurant tucked away on a side street. She walked in, and Mariana settled into a wicker chair under a colourful awning. A friendly waiter approached, his smile as warm as the sun.
"Bom dia," he greeted her, his voice welcoming. "Can I interest you in a menu?"
"Obrigada," Mariana replied, returning the smile. "Yes Please.”
Moments later, she was engrossed in the menu. After careful deliberation, she place her order.
With her order placed, Mariana reached for her phone. She dialled Natasha's number, eager to share the news of her successful interview.
"Hey Mariana! How'd it go?" Natasha's voice crackled through the phone, laced with excitement.
"It was fantastic, Nat!" Mariana exclaimed. "The interviewers were so professional and friendly, and I think I really impress
