Chapter 33 : Don't Accept
Vika POV
"Hey, Vika, Asher's here," Henry said, popping his head into my room.
"What? Why?" I asked, jumping off my bed.
Henry shrugged. "He's talking to Mom and Master Rutfus. Something about the rebellion."
Ugh. Why was he talking to my parents?
"You should probably go see him," Henry said.
"Why?" I asked, sitting back down on my bed. "There's nothing left for me to say."
"I don't know. It sounds like he is here to help. I bet we need his help," Henry offered, frowning slightly.
"I don't trust him," I said sharply.
Henry chuckled and shook his head. "You don't have to. But if he wants to help, I think we can give him a chance."
"Maybe you're right," I muttered. I casually tied a ponytail and headed downstairs.
Asher looked up like he could sense my approach. My heart sank when I saw his pale face. His skin looked like crumpled paper.
I looked at his clothes. They were mismatched and wrinkled.
