It was just as she had anticipated. Right after she lay down, Zephaniah pushed the door open and entered. He looked at her and walked to the bed before he opened the folding table on the bed and placed the lunch box on it.
The aroma of rice traveled out of the box as steam wafted out, and soon, the smell spread through the room.
Jade watched his calm demeanor quietly. His actions seemed to carry absolute patience, and as a result, she could not help but remember the last time he stayed with her in the hospital. They were not yet divorced at that time, but it seemed like he had taken care of her just like that. However, when she compared both times, there were still some differences in his actions.
“Why are you daydreaming? Aren’t you hungry?” Zephaniah handed her a pair of chopsticks, and his warm voice interrupted her musings.
“Oh, thanks.” Jade took the chopsticks and stared at the rice as well as other dishes placed in front of her. There were vegetables, meat, and soup.
