"Hey, check out what I've made. Isn't it better than yours?" She proudly showed off her creation.
As her teacher, I was great at offering encouragement rather than criticism. "The student surpasses the teacher," I said with a smile.
"I think I'm getting the hang of it," Lisa said while working. "If I ever lose my job, I'll have another skill to fall back on."
I chuckled. "Are you trying to steal my thunder?"
"A flourishing industry has many players, not just one standing alone." She had her own twisted reasoning.
She had a point, though. No industry had ever been a complete monopoly.
"I guess I've taught you well, and now you're going to put me out of business." I sighed.
"No problem. If you're ever out of business, I'll hire you in a heartbeat. I'll pay you well." She really said whatever was on her mind.
