I wondered if Zack indulged in such luxury when no one was watching. My imagination ran wild, as it often did, and I found myself lost in thought.
"Come sit here." Arthur beckoned.
I walked over and let the young ladies who had tended to Arthur do the same for me. They poured me tea, their movements graceful and delicate. While I was not used to being waited on, I could not disrespect Arthur by dismissing the help under his roof.
"You're not married?" Arthur asked as he took a sip of tea.
"No," I replied.
He chuckled. "When are you marrying into the Gildon family?"
I was surprised he hadn't heard about my break-up with Chris or that Eden had wanted to make me his wife. I wondered how Arthur would react if I had agreed to marry Eden and shown up here as his future daughter-in-law.
"I won't be getting married anytime soon," I said frankly.
Arthur was not surprised at all. He merely smiled as he asked, "Where are you working?"
