Chapter 1033
Lisa felt sorry for Logan—so much so that she wasn't even afraid of facing the thing she dreaded most. In truth, she was much braver than he had imagined.
Lisa let out a bitter smile. "If she wants to hit me, then so be it. Consider it the price I pay for loving you."
She turned to leave, but Logan pulled her back again. "I won't allow it."
He wrapped her in his arms. "Let me explain things to her first. Besides, if we're going to face this, we'll face it together. You can't just charge out there like this. If she gets even angrier and decides to chop me up too, what then?"
Lisa rested her head against his chest. "My mom isn't some bandit."
"Close enough. Didn't you hear how fierce she was just now?" Logan bent down slightly, pressing his chin against the top of her head.
"Let her misunderstand for now—it's fine, I don't mind.
"Besides, she's already so mad her blood pressure must be through the roof. If she finds out about us right now, aren't you afraid she'll just faint?"
