"Well, well," came a smooth, cultured voice. "I must say, I'm impressed. Not many people make it this far."
Victor Blackwell stood in the doorway, looking every inch the billionaire philanthropist in his expertly tailored suit. But his eyes held a coldness that sent a chill down Jasmine's spine.
"Mr. Blackwell," Jasmine said, struggling to keep her voice steady. "I suppose there's no point in pretending I'm here to dust your bookshelves."
Blackwell chuckled, stepping into the room and closing the door behind him. "Indeed not, Mrs. Cesaro. Or may I call you Jasmine? I feel like we know each other so well at this point."
Before Jasmine could respond, the window behind Blackwell's desk shattered. Marco burst through, gun drawn and pointed squarely at Blackwell's chest.
"Step away from my wife," Marco growled.
Blackwell raised his hands, looking more amused than concerned. "Marco Cesaro, right on cue. I must say, you two make quite the team."
