CHAPTER THREE HUNDRED AND ONE – THE NOBLE DEFENDER
Silva guided the truck through the outskirts of Philadelphia, his eyes constantly scanning their surroundings. Jasmine, still groggy from her brief sleep, sat up straighter as they entered an industrial area filled with warehouses.
"We need to ditch this vehicle," Silva explained, pulling into an alley between two dilapidated buildings. "It's too easy to track."
They abandoned the truck and made their way on foot, Silva leading them through a maze of abandoned structures. Finally, he stopped in front of a weathered door, quickly picking the lock.
"Home sweet home," he muttered as they entered the musty interior of an old warehouse.
Dust motes danced in the weak sunlight filtering through grimy windows. Abandoned machinery loomed like sleeping giants in the shadows.
"We'll rest here for a bit," Silva said, "then figure out our next move."
Jasmine sank onto an overturned crate, her body aching from their ordeal. "What exactly is our next move? We can't keep running forever."
