CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND NINETY ONE – RIVER STORM
However, as evening approached, the mood on the boat began to shift. Dark clouds gathered on the horizon, and the wind picked up, creating choppy waves on the river.
Carlos appeared on deck, his weathered face creased with concern. "Folks, we might be in for a bit of rough weather. I'd advise you all to head below deck and secure any loose items."
The group hurried to follow his instructions, but the storm hit faster than anyone anticipated. Rain lashed the boat, and thunder rolled overhead. The Estrela do Rio pitched and rolled in the turbulent water.
In the main cabin, the artists huddled together, trying to keep their balance as the boat rocked violently.
"Is this normal?" Elena asked, her voice trembling slightly.
Rafael, who had grown up near the river, shook his head. "I've never seen it this bad. The river doesn't usually get this rough."
Suddenly, there was a loud crash from above, followed by Carlos's voice shouting over the storm. "I need help up here!"
