"Yes," Shelmaine replied. She was unable to free herself from Samuel's grip, so she stopped trying and instead tilted her head to meet his gaze.
"Did you forget what Dr. Palmer told you? I needed to be hospitalized and get counseling. You didn't listen or care if I lived or died. Even when I was physically weak, you still wanted to be with me. Did you ever think of me as a person?"
