Julien glanced back and naturally spotted Samuel. The two men exchanged a look, and though no words were spoken, an unspoken tension hung in the air. The green light flashed, and Julien nodded at Samuel in acknowledgment, who then sped away the moment the light turned. Neither Julien nor Shelmaine mentioned Samuel. Before they reached Julien's home, Shelmaine's phone rang. Instinctively, she assumed it was Samuel. She hurriedly glanced at the screen and confirmed it was indeed him. Without looking at the message, she turned her phone off. After arriving at Julien's place and taking the elevator up from the basement, Julien took her hand, pulling her a little closer. He looked down at her, his thick eyelashes framing a thoughtful gaze as he took in her slightly upturned nose and rosy lips. His eyes lingered on her lips for a long moment. The elevator felt quite enclosed with just the two of them. Feeling a bit shy, Shelmaine glanced back at him and asked, "Do you live here alone?"
