CHAPTER EIGHTY-ONE - THE EDGE OF FORGIVENESS
The private jet ascended into the sky, Leon leaned back in his leather seat, his eyes fixed on Nia. "I can't thank you enough for coming with me," he said, his voice tinged with gratitude and exhaustion.
Nia fidgeted with her seatbelt, her mind racing. "Of course, I wouldn't be anywhere else. But... what about work? I don't want to fall behind or cause any issues."
Leon's face softened, a chuckle escaping his lips. "Nia, I'm the CEO. I think I can handle a few days without my star employee." He winked, causing Nia to blush slightly.
"Right," Nia laughed, the tension in her shoulders easing. "I guess I forgot who I was talking to for a moment."
As the flight progressed, Nia found herself drawn to the medical bay at the rear of the jet. The steady beep of monitors and the gentle hum of equipment created a surreal atmosphere. Justin lay still, his chest rising and falling rhythmically. A doctor in crisp white coat checked his vitals, offering Nia a reassuring nod.
