CHAPTER FIFTEEN - TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT
Taking a deep, steadying breath, Nia grabbed her cleaning cart and set off down the hallway at a brisk pace.
For the rest of her shift, Nia worked with an intensity born of fear and adrenaline. She constantly looked over her shoulder, jumping at every little sound. By the time she clocked out, she had finished her tasks in record time, but the tension in her body refused to dissipate.
As she made her way home in the predawn light, Nia couldn't shake the feeling that she had narrowly escaped disaster. The close call had shaken her more than she cared to admit. How long could she keep up this charade? How many more times could she hide before her luck ran out?
Little did Nia know, her next encounter with Leon was closer than she thought.
