CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY FIVE – IS THE TRIP DONE?
Unaware of the drama unfolding on deck, Nia had retreated to her cabin. As she closed the door behind her, the emotions of the day finally overwhelmed her. She sank onto her bed, her body wracked with sobs.
"It's all my fault," she whispered to the empty room. "If I hadn't come on this trip, if I hadn't run away in the first place..."
The weight of her past decisions, the pain in Leon's eyes, the look of concern on Kathy's face – it all crashed down on her at once. Nia curled up on the bed, her tears soaking into the pillow.
As the ship sailed on through the night, Nia cried herself into an exhausted sleep, haunted by regrets and the fear of what the coming days might bring.
Sunday morning arrived with an ominous atmosphere. Nia stirred in her cabin, her eyes puffy from the previous night's tears. The gentle rocking she had grown accustomed to had transformed into an unsettling lurch. As she sat up, her stomach churned uncomfortably.
