He lead his wife and two children, a boy and a girl to the black jeep surrounded by three guards dressed in black suits. Timothy Mathews knew the feathers would come for him and kill him but he had to save his family even if he doesn't survive the night. " go stay with your aunt in Rome Rebecca, I promise I'll come back for you and the children."Timothy hugged his wife and his children and lead them all inside the car. "Timothy, this would have been easy if you had just shut your mouth. If you die tonight, how I'm I going to survive without you?"Rebecca burst into tears and gave Timothy the last look before shutting the car door. Timothy instructed the guards on the route to take to the airport and when he was done, two jeeps drove out of the compound while he went back to his mansion ready to face his death. As he entered his living room, the lights went off and came back on. There on his brown couch was Daniel Hamilton sitting with his hand folded together. "Well, well. If it isn't the state council of langose."Daniel stood up from the couch he was sitting and walked to where Timothy was standing. "I'm Daniel Hamilton, oh my bad. You knew me so well to talk about me." "I know you we're going to come and I'm prepared for my death,"Timothy replied. Daniel laughed and signal to Andre who stood at the back of the brown couch. "Andre, bring me the syringe, "he instructed. Andre bought out a syringe filled up with liquid from the white suitcase in his hand and handed it over to Daniel. "Should I tell you a story state council?"Daniel offered, but Timothy just stared at him waiting patiently for his death. "I saw you talking to your wife a moment ago. You should have listened to her about shutting your mouth up. Do you know what this syringe contains?"Daniel raised the syringe in his hand up and pointed it at Timothy. "It contains a poison that eats your lungs out and gives you a slow painful death." Timothy moved closer to Daniel and faced him. They both stared at each other for a while before breaking the staring contest. "I thought you have a dog that does all your dirty job. For a leader, I never believe you would stoop so low to come here and tell me stories that touch my heart. Get on with killing me, Daniel Hamilton."Timothy shouted. Daniel raised his hand and stabbed him with the syringe on his neck. Timothy Mathews choked and cough out blood and fell to the ground. "I hate two things state council. One, I hate when someone tries to stop all I have labored for, and two, I hate when people speak low of me."Daniel told him and bent down and whispered into Timothy's ear. "I get rid of people like you. " Timothy spat the blood in his mouth on Daniel's face and shouted with all his might. "I hope you rot in hell and die there." Andre who was in the room kicked Timothy in the stomach and bought out his gun to shoot him but he was stopped by Daniel. "I'm already in hell Matthew"Daniel bought out a handkerchief from his suit pocket and wipe the blood off his face. "I forgot to tell you that, your wife and children didn't get to the airport, "Daniel informed. Timothy stared at him with a shocked expression and shouted at him. "What have you done you bloody monster?" "well I ordered my men to make their deaths looked like an accident and that's exactly what happened. Such is life, Matthews."Daniel wiped his face off with his hand as if he was crying then he burst out laughing and stood up. "You could have saved your family Matthews but, you didn't. Goodbye, and when you get to hell, greet the devil for me."Daniel walked out ignoring Timothy Mathews's cries and shouts. Andre and some men that escorted Daniel carried Timothy and threw him inside the booth. They drove out of the mansion and drove straight to a bridge. When they got to the bridge, Andre and the men took Timothy's body and dumped it into the sea. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ************* "This had come as shocking news as Timothy Mathews corpse was found in the sea this early morning. who killed Timothy Mathews? Could it be the feathers or his rival?"The camera showed Timothy Mathew's corpse that was being wheeled into the ambulance. Lara showed her badge and walked to the fisherman who found Timothy Mathew's body. He was being interviewed by a reporter. "LGPD" Lara showed her badge to the reporter who was no other person than Mary. "Mary" Lara called and a shocking Mary faced her and smiled at her. She faced the fisherman and then began her questioning. When she was done, she walked around the crime scene and watched around carefully. Kayla stood beside her and watched her every move. "What is going on in this country? There are too many crimes and the government isn't doing a thing about it."Lara lamented as she watched the sea. "No one can change the world. Don't try to, cause you'll only get hurt. "Kayla said beside her and walked away from her while Lara watched her as she went away pondering on what she had said. The static noise of the walkie-talkie on her hand bought her out of her thought. "Hello, Lara Johnson over. I'm on my way."Lara put the radio back into her pocket and get into her vehicle. She drove out of the crime scene that was still crowded with reporters and people. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ********** Lisa walked into Jeremy's room to informed him about Timothy Mathews death but he met him already watching the news on his TV. "Sir" Lisa bow. "I've already heard the news, Lisa. Thanks for coming to inform me."Jeremy said and stood up from his bed. "Sir, you still need to be on your bed. Your therapist made..." "My therapist doesn't order me around cause I pay for her service. Yomi, get the car. I'm going to the firm today and I need everyone present for the meeting."Jeremy ordered. "But.. "Yomi tried to protest but, Jeremy raised his hand to stop him. "I'm fine now. Get the car and you Lisa, call everyone for the meeting." Lisa and yomi bow and left the room to do as instructed. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ****** Lara arrived at a crime scene where two cars had collided together. The cars were both ruined but the second looked to be the worst. Lara watched as the paramedics wheeled the victims of the accident into the ambulance. Lara showed her badge and walked towards the crime scene. "LGPD" she showed her badge and tapped her colleague who had called her to the crime scene. "What's going on here Andrews?" she asked. "It was an accident that happened yesterday. A witness confirmed that the accident happened around ten pm, "her colleague replied. "Any idea who the victims are? And how many people were involved?"Lara asked. "Well, six people were involved in the accident but one of them is still alive but barely, "the colleague announced and pointed to an ambulance that was moving out of the crime scene. "A woman survived. The rest are dead including two children, "the colleague pointed to two children that were wheeled into the ambulance. Lara watched with a sad expression and wiped the tears that were forming in her eyes. "The children were still alive when we got here but they died due to too much bleeding. They struggle to stay alive throughout the night." Lara exhale and inhale then she instructed her colleague on what to do. "Find the identity of those children and I'll get the forensics results," Lara informed and walked away into her car. She entered her car and burst into tears. When she was done, she turned her car around and drove away from the crime scene. "Why were people committing crimes and getting away with it? She didn't become a detective to watch people die especially children. She made a promise to her dead father that she was going to bring order to the world but she was already failing at the job she wanted so much. How could those children die like that? Was she already failing at her job?. She hit her steering wheel and cried as she drove into the street. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?? *********** A man watched the news on TV in his dirty living room and laughed at the news. "Bloody people" he spat as he watched the news. His face was bandaged. Only his eyes and nose were visible, The rest of his face was bandaged. The man continue watching the news and laughing at what he was seeing on TV.
