Lana was stunned when she heard Mark’s words. She suddenly felt a chill, making her tremble all over.  She began to recall their relationship over the past eight years.  From the beginning to the end, she felt that their relationship had been good.  All the moments they had together, he had even said he would stay but now he was gone. Was she a fool to have believed in true love, she felt used.   If there was anyone that she loved so much, it was him and he knew that.  It was almost as if he had planned it all out. He made her feel special just to break her heart in the end. He was so cruel and there was nothing she could do to take her mind off him. Even when she told herself that she didn’t want to involve herself with him anymore, life just kept shoving it to her face that they were bound to cross paths. “Moreover, Mark is my boss. How could I possibly escape not seeing him everyday?” She thought her situation was dire. Seeing him was somewhat inevitable.
