"Sorry about this. If Joshua hadn't been so rough, you wouldn't have gotten hurt," Sophia said, her gaze lingering on the bandage wrapped around Edison's head, a mix of emotions flickering in her eyes.
For a brief moment, her mind wandered back to the master bedroom, where Joshua had grabbed her so assertively. His eyes had been filled with intensity, domineering and forceful—just like the man he used to be.

"Sophia?"
Edison called her name twice, but she didn't respond. So, he raised his voice and called again.
"What is it?" Sophia asked, snapping out of her thoughts, her tone filled with confusion.
Edison gave her an innocent look and pointed to the bandage on his head. "The doctor has finished dressing my wound. Let's go home."
"Alright," Sophia said softly, walking alongside him as they left the hospital.
