In my memory, my mother had always been someone whose presence didn't matter much.
During the three years I was married to Sophia, or rather, since I became independent and grew up, she only contacted me when she needed money. She never cared about me.
She seemed different from most other mothers—she only cared about herself.
I had thought Jayden was just trying to cheer me up with his words, but I never expected that my mother had really come to see me.
"Mrs. Palmer did visit. She cried a lot when she came."
I was briefly shocked but smiled and said, "Maybe it's because I was about to die, and suddenly, everyone around me has turned into a good person."
"You won't die. As long as you cooperate with the treatment, there's still a chance for recovery."
Jayden's voice was heavy, as if he was trying to convince both himself and me.
In the end, I didn't argue with him. I just smiled and said, "Don't worry. I'll follow the doctor's treatment plan and stay positive."
