Fergus couldn't grasp where Perseus was going with this. Just moments ago, Perseus had outright declared he was going to kill him—so why was he suddenly talking about food?
"That's not guaranteed." Perseus shook his head.
He explained seriously, "The taste depends on whether the meat is tender or gamey. After all, you're too fat. Even dogs wouldn't want to eat you."
"What? You want to eat my flesh?" Fergus trembled, his wounded thigh throbbing in agony.
"Relax. My knife skills are excellent—you wouldn't feel a thing. Here, let me show you."
Perseus flicked his hand.
Fergus barely registered the motion. There was only a sharp gust of wind in front of him, nothing more.
Then he saw it—the hairy chunk of flesh resting on Perseus' dagger. His eyes widened.
A cold sensation bloomed on his left cheek. When he touched it, his fingers came away slick with fresh blood.
