Leon glanced sideways.
Aaron was shocked. He hadn't meant to speak his mind out loud.
"What I mean is, the things you give are so special. Someone like me, who hasn't done anything and can't be of any help, doesn't deserve them." He quickly corrected himself, fearing that speaking too slowly would end badly for him.
Leon responded slowly, "How could that be? Just your identity alone makes you worthy of ten times that."
Aaron attempted to argue, but he gave up when his eyes met Leon's unfazed gaze. "I'm sorry."
Henry cleared his throat.
"What's so funny?" Aaron shifted the topic. "Do you think I can't have your boss send you a hundred of these?"
"Mr. Quigley is always fair and discerning. He won't let external factors affect his decisions," Henry said seriously. "Do you think he'd listen to malicious gossip?"
"Flatterer," Aaron muttered under his breath.
Leon gave him a side glance. "Don't bully my people."
