"Eleanor was already at the kindergarten. How could she not pick up Charlie? What kind of mother is she?"
"Alright, that's it. Don't let Charlie hear that." Gregory remained aloof. "Didn't you hear what Rose said? Your son has a mistress. You can't blame Eleanor for that."
"Just because Rose said so, that doesn't mean William has a mistress. It might not even be true. I trust my son." Mary sneered, "Besides, even if William does have a mistress, that's on Eleanor for not being a good wife at home. She hasn't been a capable wife! Would William even have a mistress if Eleanor played her part well? There's a reason for everything!"
"You!" Gregory was so furious that he couldn't find the words to speak. "Listen to what you're saying!"
