Once they were alone, Ella turned to him, her voice low but firm. "This isn't the answer. We can't out-Hawthorne Hawthorne. We need to focus on what makes us special – our connection to the community."
Lucas ran a hand through his hair, frustration evident in every line of his body. "Ella, we're losing customers. If we don't do something drastic, we might not have a restaurant left to save."
"I understand that," Ella pressed. "But alienating our staff and changing everything about ourselves isn't the solution. We need to remind people why they loved us in the first place."
Their argument escalated, voices rising until they were nearly shouting. It was only when Ella noticed the shocked faces of their staff peering through the office window that she realized how heated things had become.
