We burst into the pack hospital with James and Hunter holding Isaiah up while I applied pressure to his wound. The hospital was a bit busy with Alaia's little sleeping potion victims. Doctor Callie directed us to an empty room, and they laid Isaiah on the bed.
I kept the pressure on his wound as one of the nurses tried to take over. I wasn't sure what was wrong with me, but I didn't want to move. I didn't want him to die. It wasn't until James touched my shoulders that I let the nurse do her job.
"He's going to be okay, Zira," James said while pulling me away from Isaiah, but my hand didn't want to let go.
"I can't lose him too, James. I can't," I said, looking at him. I knew seeing how much I cared for Isaiah would hurt him, but I knew he would understand. I hope he will understand.
"You won't, Zira. Just let them work, okay?" I nodded and reluctantly let go of Isaiah's hand.
We both walked into the hallway, and I got one last glimpse of Isaiah before the door closed. James guide
