In a haste to escape their plight, Nicole and Jacob had gotten lost. But still, they couldn't be bothered. Staying safe was their priority. After Jacob took Nicole from the rural path to a dirt road that led to the village, they finally stopped to catch their breath. They found themselves at the back end of the village, where only a few houses were around, and people hardly passed by. Nicole dragged him behind a mud house, using it as cover for the two of them. "Let me see your wound first!" Forcing Jacob to bend down, she pushed his hair aside. Fortunately, only his forehead was injured badly. The back and the top of his head were still intact. However, the stone had burst the skin on his forehead, leaving a wound about 2 inches long hidden in his hair. His hair was heavily stained with blood, causing it to clump together.
