We watched as the witches retreated. My chest heaved up and down. I threw away the stake, which dripped with black blood on the ground. It rattled up and down before settling on the floor.
"Good job, everyone,’’ I said. "Check on everyone; let's head back to the camp," I said. "Yes, sir." They chorused and started helping themselves.
My mind went back to the last words the witches had said before they retreated.

Something isn't right. It's like they are aware of something we don't know." Minerva spoke up behind me. "Yes. Let's talk about this later. We need to get out of here first," I said. She nodded in understanding.
"Are you injured?" I asked, unable to stop myself. "No. Are you?" She asked, her eyes scanning my body for any sign of injury. "No. Let's help the humans be safe before we leave," I said.
She nodded before moving away
