Giselle and her grandmother touched down in Italy under the cover of night, but thanks to the time difference, it was a bright and bustling afternoon there.
Stepping outside, they were immediately greeted by the sight of someone energetically waving a newsboy cap.
“Giselle, Grandma, over here! Right here!”
Her voice cut through the crowd with unmistakable clarity.
Grandma squinted toward the commotion and pointed, “Is that Megan?”
Giselle nodded. “Who else?”
As they got closer, Megan swept them into a bear hug. “Oh, I’ve missed you so much! Should I be thanking Henry? Without him, I’d have been deprived of your company for at least six months.”
“Cough, cough—ease up or you’ll have us both in the grave!”
Megan quickly stepped back, her eyes darting to Giselle’s belly, “Oh dear, baby, your godmother didn’t mean to!”
Grandma chuckled at her dramatic flair, playfully lifting Megan’s vibrant dreadlocks. “Megan, what’s with the dreadlocks?”
