Chapter 1335
Abigail knew she should not have any expectations when it came to James. At the library, she sat quietly on the chair, scooting back so her feet dangled above the floor. She swung her legs back and forth, looking bored and a little sulky.
The city library was not crowded, but the people inside were a mixed bunch—some were working professionals, while others were students like them.
James set his water bottle down and asked, "You're not going to pick out a book?"
Abigail puffed up her cheeks, and it was clear from her expression that she was not in the best mood. Yet, James seemed oblivious and handed her his bottle.
He said, "If you're not doing anything, fill this up for me."
Abigail grabbed his bottle and, without protest, made her way to the water station.
Meanwhile, James wandered through the bookshelves, searching for something he wanted to read. As he made his way back, he glanced at Abigail, who was now slumped at their table, staring gloomily at nothing.
