Chapter 26 Nursing Her Wound
I lay in bed, feeling Aaron's condescending gaze upon me. His eyes were cold as if he were accusing me of trying to drug him. However, I had no malicious intentions. Ensuring he got through the night of the full moon was my responsibility, but he didn't seem to understand that.
The sleeping pill's effects were potent, and I lost all my strength after just a sip. Sleepiness overcame me. Aaron's touch on my face was like a lover's, yet his eyes remained icy.
Fear crept in. My drowsiness muddled my thoughts and reasoning.
"Sleeping pill," he said, moving closer to my lips. I could feel his warm breath, but his words were filled with shock and questioning.
Apart from his inquiry, he seemed genuinely taken aback. I lacked the strength to respond; all I could manage was a feeble head shake.
I had spiked his drink with a sleeping pill, but it was for his own good. The pill was meant to help him take the shot, not harm him.
