Chapter 535 Slipped Tongue
Jeremy buckled his seatbelt casually, his tone unhurried. "I think 'Mr. Lawson' sounds good! So, where do you live? I'll drop you off. Do you live alone, or are you still with your folks?"
Leonard glanced desperately out the window, hoping that Lia hadn't disappeared. To his dismay, she was already inside the building. He was on his own. "I… I live alone. I've been on my own for a while now. Living with my parents is just… complicated. My place is in Moonlight Bay Estates. Uh, sorry for the trouble…"
The car ride was as awkward as it could get. Jeremy wasn't much of a talker, especially when he wasn't drinking, and his serious demeanor made the silence feel even heavier.
Leonard tried to focus on the passing city lights outside the window, but the bustling streets only added to his dizziness.
Out of nowhere, Jeremy broke the silence. "Do your parents know that you're dating my daughter?" His voice was calm, but his sideways glance said otherwise.
"No, they don't," Leonard answered
