Chapter Twenty - Fletcher
“I don’t care how much it costs. I need you there within two hours.”
I’d been on the phone with a local interior designer for the last thirty minutes. I needed to fix Ava a spot to paint. A place she felt was her own in the house.
When I ended the call, I glanced over at Levi in the corner. He had a cheesy smile on his face that irritated me. “What?” I asked, shoving my phone back into my pocket.
“Nothing,” Levi said, shrugging his shoulders. “You seem to be doing a lot for your new bride.”
“Am I supposed to ignore her?” I asked, looking down the hallway for Dad. He agreed to meet us here ten minutes before. “I’m trying to make her comfortable.”
“I’m not saying anything is wrong with it. I’m actually pretty happy that you seem content.” He leaned against the wall next to the door and folded his arms over his chest. “Have you broken in your new bride…”
