Jenny fled like her life depended on it. Because it really did.
She had seen the look on Spencer’s face. It was so sinister, more sinister than any expression she had ever seen on his face before. It made her wonder how he always kept the side of himself hidden around people, especially around a smart man like Chase Darwin.
It was a mystery.
One she almost lost her life trying to uncover. She jumped into her car and floored the accelerator, peeling down the road like the hounds of hell were at her heels.
She drove straight to Lucas’ penthouse, too panicked to even go to her own apartment. Spencer did not know where she lived, but she was not sure how long that would last after what just happened. And the bastard had all the damn resources he had to track her down if he wanted to.
Jenny was no longer safe. She knew this.
On getting to the penthouse, it took far too long for the guards to even let her in. And that only happened after they contacted Lucas himself.
