Cassandra's eyes slowly fluttered open, and her surroundings came into focus. Her mind groggily processed her surroundings before her gaze settled on the only other person in the room; the woman who had knocked her out in the woods.
A surge of anger coursed through Cassandra's veins as she struggled to sit up. Her eyes locked onto Claire's, and they immediately narrowed. "I swear when I get my hands on you, you will regret every minute of it."
Claire let out a small, wicked smile and continued sharpening an arrow with immense care. "Ah, always so full of spirit, even when you're at a disadvantage."
Cassandra's eyes darted around the room, seeking an escape route or a way to regain the upper hand. She noticed that her limbs felt heavy and weak, her strength sapped by some unseen force. Her hand instinctively moved to her neck, where she still felt the sharp pain.
