67 New Evidence
When Calantha saw how familiar the police chief and Edward were, she knew today wouldn't go well.
"Chief, I know you have a lot of power, but you should still follow the rules. We need to find Helen Smith first. If we can't, then Miss Gisela should stay here for twenty-four hours."
"She's been released on bail," the chubby chief said with a smirk. "Girl, here, I am the rule. I say and do as I please. Do you understand?"
Calantha was itching with anger. "I'll file a complaint against you."
"Suit yourself," the chief said. "Since I dare speak to you like this, I'm not afraid of your complaint. I hope you'll receive a response after sending your complaint letter."
Gisela followed behind Hopkins, saying warmly, "Thank you, Uncle Hopkins."
Hopkins patted her arm and said, "Don't worry, I've taken care of everything for you. You don't need to worry about anyone bothering you again."
Calantha looked at those people's ugly smiling faces with nothing but anger and frustration.
