EVENING ~MAE~ My boss came around at six just like she did yesterday and after the exchange of pleasantries, she requested my presence in her office and on getting there, she handed me a nylon bag containing packaged food. “That’s your dinner. I'm sure you're hungry,” she said, and I nodded slowly with an appreciative smile. “I’m so grateful, ma'am," I said, and she gave a simple reply. “I decided to pay you for this month in advance so you can settle in your new apartment and buy the necessary things you need," she said. She couldn't help but wonder how someone looking this strict is so nice. “I’m so grateful, ma'am,” I said, embracing her tightly in gratitude. “You should go meet Delilah, she's in charge of the finance ” she said and my eyes widened.
