Bethany paused. Her first reaction was disbelief. "Is there not enough blood in the blood bank? Why did they need you to donate blood?"
"You have golden blood. Do you know what that is?" Serene felt secretly pleased, thinking that Megan was indeed smart.
"Alright." Bethany felt awkward and was silent for a moment before asking, "By the way, was Aunt Tina here? I think I saw her before I passed out."
"She went back. She's not feeling well, but since Megan is with her, you shouldn't bother her," Serene warned.
"Got it." Bethany didn't dwell on it. The two remained quiet until the police arrived.
"Who made the report?"
"I did." Bethany subconsciously glanced at Serene.
"Sir, there may be some misunderstanding here. We're not going to lodge a report anymore." Serene quickly stood up with a smile.
The police officer frowned. "What's going on here? And who are you?"
"I'm her mother." Serene pointed to Bethany, who was lying in the hospital bed and said, "She's had a bit of a shock—"
