"Coming!" Bethany cast one last lingering look at Trystan before quickly turning and walking away.
"Beth, how did it go?" Jenny, who had been waiting, immediately rushed forward, worried. "Did Trystan remember anything?"
Bethany shook her head and forced a smile. "Trystan was asleep; I couldn't wake him up."
"You couldn't wake him up?" Jenny couldn't help but feel anxious. "Beth, this might be your last chance to see him. How could you not wake him up?"
Bethany felt helpless—she had tried her best. She couldn't exactly shout in the ICU, after all.
Not wanting to worry Jenny, she smiled, explaining, "It's okay. He seems much better, and that's a huge relief. Even if he can't remember me now, it's fine. I'll wait until the day he remembers me, no matter how long it takes."
"You're such a fool!" Jenny shook her head, hugging Bethany sympathetically. "You're both fools!"
