Tina, wrapped in a thick sweater over her hospital gown, still appeared frail. Her hands were clasped around a cup of warm milk.
"Aunt Tina!" Bethany called out as she took a seat opposite Tina.
"Hi, Beth." Tina's expression brightened upon seeing her.
"Did you sneak out again, Aunt Tina? Are you feeling better?" Bethany's voice was tinged with concern.
"I'm fine. I'm not that fragile." Tina chuckled. Her gaze then softened as she looked at Bethany.
Tina always had a special fondness for Bethany, a feeling that began the moment she first held her as an infant.
While her relationship with Megan was governed more by her obligation as a mother, her affection for Bethany was sincere and genuine. She had been experiencing sleepless nights ever since she knew what Megan had done to Bethany.
When Bethany noticed tears welling up in Tina's eyes, she quickly moved closer to her and asked, "Aunt Tina, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
