Chapter 9
Alan Reyes
I got up in the middle of the night and still found Bella sleeping beside me. I smiled looking at her and kissed her bare shoulder. I got out of the bed and took a shower.
"Nice ass." I flinched and turned around to see Bella entering the bathroom.
"Did I wake you up?" I asked and she joined me.
"You did." She answered as she wrapped her arms around my hips from the back.
"It's 2 in the morning, you should go back to sleep." I said and she chuckled. She stood in front of me and she led my hand to help her wash up.
"Can we have lunch together today?" I asked.
"I can say that you're a little bit clingy." She said as she took the soap from my hand.
"I have a weird attachment to you." I pulled her body into my arms and kissed her cheek. I helped her to wash up her shoulder when I noticed a long scar on her back.
"What happened?" I asked as I trailed the scar with my finger.
"Accident." I don't think it's an accident judging by the scar. How could it be an accident? It's more like someone slitting her back instead of an accident.
"Tell me."
"I rather not talk about it." She said and she quickly got out from the shower. I quickly washed myself and walked out from the bathroom. I saw Bella wearing my shirt as she stood at the balcony.
"Are you okay?" I asked and she nodded.
"Yeah." I looked at her and she looked so beautiful under the moonlight. Her eyes were looking up to the sky blankly and I can tell that there's something more than just this Bella. I know she's hiding something but I rather have her telling me about it.
"Did you regret not being a doctor?" She suddenly asked as she turned her attention to me.
"Yes. Even though I love my job now but I still want to be a doctor."
"I think you suit to be one." She said and that gave me a weird feeling from the pit of my stomach. She looked up to the sky again and that made me realize lots of things about this woman.
"My parents hated the idea, especially my dad. I never want to be related to him." I said honestly.
"Why?"
"He was abusive and so demanding."
"Why didn't you run away or start your own life?" She asked.
"I don't want him to hurt more people that's why I'm taking over." I said as I looked up to the sky. Suddenly Bella held my hand and I turned to her. She tiptoed and kissed my lips slowly. I leaned down and wrapped my arms around her waist kissing her more.
"I hope you can do that, Alan." She said as we both looked at each other.
"Don't be like your father.." She caressed my cheek and I nodded. She pushed me away and walked back into the hotel room. I followed her and she sat on the bed looking at her phone.
I love what I'm seeing right now and I felt like this is the real Bella. Calm and sweet.
"Will you have lunch with me today?" I asked and she turned to me.
"I can't, I have a meeting. Besides I'm going to Dubai tomorrow." She said and I laid on the bed beside her.
"I don't think we should see each other often." She said as she put down her phone.
"Why?" I asked as I turned to her.
"I get bored easily." She said and then she gave me a peck on my lips before tucking herself to bed. I chuckled seeing her and kissed her forehead.
It surprised me to see another side of her. Somehow I know that the real Bella is what I'm seeing right now. I'm loving and enjoying this side of her and it makes me want to have her more.
I admitted that I want her because she can satisfy me and I love the way her body perfectly fits in my arms but now.. I want her more. She's not like any other woman that I've been hanging out with. She's a tough woman outside but I bet she has a real soft spot inside.
I pulled her body close to me and I closed my eyes to sleep.
*Next morning
I opened my eyes and hoping that she's still sleeping beside me but no. She already left and I found myself smiling as I remembered what happened last night.
I got up and turned on my phone. I put on my clothes on and decided to go straight to work. I have no time to change my clothes besides I have a spare clothes in my office.
I drove there and my phone kept on ringing inside my pocket. I was going to ignore it because I'm driving but as I stopped at the red lights, I checked who's calling and it's Hannah, my secretary. I put on my bluetooth earpiece so I could talk while I'm driving.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Mr. Reyes, Mr. Anthony got shot and died 2 hours ago." My whole body froze when she said that.
"How?"
"They're still investigating."
"I'll see you at the office." I said and ended the call. Martin Anthony was actually one of the biggest stakeholders of Reyes Oil. He and my dad were partners in this business for more than 30 years.
I drove fast to the office and once I got there, Hannah greeted me and showed me the news of his dead. He was shot straight to his heart and died instantly.
"Who did this?"
"So far.. the police couldn't identify the killer yet. They found where the killer shot him but there's no DNA and weapon." Hannah answered and I quickly went up to my dad's office.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yes." He answered.
"We need to find his killer." My dad said and I found myself nodding.
