Chapter 113: Taking Initiative
When Curtis walked down, the commotion was almost over. Juliet wore a distressed expression, while Catherine stood nearby looking even more distressed. It was unclear who to blame.
"What happened here?"
Curtis suddenly appeared and spoke up. Everyone wondered if he was going to say something in defense, given the known relationship between Catherine and Leonard. It wouldn't be surprising for him to stand up for family.
"I accidentally pushed my sister. She seemed upset. I didn't mean to. I've apologized, but that gentleman over there seems insistent that I did it on purpose. But my relationship with my sister has always been good. Why would I do that to her?"
Catherine stood by Curtis, speaking in a voice loud enough for onlookers to hear. Nobody really knew what had happened between the sisters. The crowd was more curious about why Curtis was there and why he was getting involved in this.
