Chapter 75 - A Wild Goose Chase

Following the track left by Jasmine's horse, the Valtheon witches proceeded through the woods in silence, their senses sharpened. They were all dressed in dark robes, and their shapes blended in perfectly with the darkness. Queen Sylara had instructed them to track Jasmine in order to discover where she was slinking off to in the middle of the night. They had a responsibility to find the truth because the queen was suspicious. As they came to a tiny route that wound through the thick trees, the group's leader, Elvira, gestured for them to slow down, "Keep your eyes sharp” she muttered, with her eyes darting around the shadows, "She can't be that far away” A figure emerged in the distance as they continued forward. Her figure was partially hidden by the shadows as she stood at the edge of the trees. The witches hesitated, peering at her features through the darkness. The figure's long, reddish brown hair, which is the same color as Jasmine's, shimmered subtly in the moonlight.
