Long, eerie shadows were created when the faint light from the old dungeon flickered against the chilly stone walls. Her limbs hurt from the strong spell Lycoria had cast, and Sylara groaned as she forced herself off the ground.
Her witches moved about her, some still in a magical sleep, others whimpering in agony as they fought to restore their strength.
They had been stripped of their magic and left defenseless by the powerful, rare, and ancient spell of Lycoria.
Sylara got to her feet, swaying a little. Her brain pounded as though it were full of a thousand whispers, the spell's effects still evident.
She muttered a curse at Lycoria, but as she thought about her prize, a twisted smile appeared on her lips. The prince, Ramin, was still under her control in spite of their efforts. Her boots clattered on the stone floor as she staggered toward the prison.
