Chapter 31 - Lies in Between Lines

Veloria hurried through the congested streets of Arcanis, her cloak drawn close about her slim figure as she made her way through the maze of hallways and alleys. With merchants yelling over their wares and kids running in and out of the crowds, the city was bustling with activity. Veloria's thoughts, however, were elsewhere. There was no time to waste because she had a goal to accomplish. The pleasure house was her destination. With a determined mask on her face, Veloria forced her way through the crowds. Once she relayed Aryana's message to her sister, they would take the appropriate safety measures. As she got closer to the pleasure home, the aroma of wine and incense mixed with the sounds of soothing music and laughter coming from within. Most of the customers milling about the vast foyer did not notice her as she slid by the doorman at the entry, who nodded knowingly. Moving through the tangle of rooms and hallways, Veloria's footsteps were silent and well-practiced. She was f
