"It seems like she's trying to take me somewhere," I said.
I picked Nora up. Clutching tightly onto my collar, she pointed in another direction with one hand. I exchanged glances with Sheree, and we followed the direction Nora was pointing to.
As we headed down the stairs, I noticed there seemed to be dark red drops of liquid near the door of the room next to us. Following the trail, there were also drops of the liquid on the stairs—it seemed like blood.
Following Nora's lead, we stepped outside. She suddenly looked anxious as she pointed toward some bushes. Light didn't reach that area, and we didn't know what lurked in the darkness.
I held Sheree back, who was about to head over. "That area's a blind spot for the surveillance cameras. It's late, so let's not head over. Let's go back and get help."
Sheree nodded and hurried inside to call for help.
Just then, I heard the faint sound of someone groaning in pain. I focused my gaze on the large trees behind the bushes.
