I felt relieved. "That's good, then."
The restaurant had a traditional, vintage style, with a live musician playing in the courtyard. I then led Donn up the winding staircase to the third floor, where we sat in a booth by the window.
Before leaving, I made sure to bring the gift Mom had insisted I deliver. I quickly slid the paper bag across the table to Donn. He raised an eyebrow, as if silently asking what it was.
"It's a souvenir my mom brought for you," I explained.
He opened the box, and the wooden sculpture inside gave off a pleasant, aromatic scent.
"Thank Mrs. Stark for me. I really like it," he said.
The restaurant specialized in Jalthoria's unique flavors. Given its location and renowned craftsmanship, the prices were naturally high.
Donn looked at the menu and teased, "You really went all out."
"I owe you one. Without your help, I wouldn't have come up with that plan," I replied.
