Donn slowly took off his glasses and began to wipe them—a gesture he used to calm himself down.
After a moment, the grim air around him faded, soon replaced by his usual gentle and refined demeanor.
He then waved to the server and asked for the bill.
On the way home, I yelled at Darren in frustration, "Darren Preston! What exactly do you want?"
Darren stood there quietly, obediently looking at my face but showing no sign of guilt.

He must've gone insane!
I frowned. "Can you stop interfering with my life?"
"No," Darren stubbornly replied.
"I can wait until you're no longer angry. I know I was wrong in the past, but I'll prove with my actions that I've changed. I'll make it up to you, Cassie. But I can't just stand by and watch you leave me for good."
I said firmly, "But I don't love you anymore. You can't be this selfish. You need to let me go."
