Chapter 36 Playing the Field

Linda quickly steadied her phone and hung up the call. Kevin asked curiously, "What’s going on? Who called? Why didn’t you answer? Was it Casey and her friends?" Kevin worried that Casey might still be causing trouble, so he asked with concern. Linda hurriedly shook her head, saying, "No, it’s probably just a telemarketer. I’ve received those calls before and just didn’t want to answer." Kevin breathed a sigh of relief and handed the apple he was peeling to Linda, saying, "You should block those kinds of numbers. You can set them to go straight to voicemail." Linda nodded and smiled, "Yeah, I know." She said she’d block the number but didn’t take any action to block Alan’s number.
