Chapter 104
Cindy smiled teasingly at me as if we were old friends. Onlookers might have actually thought we were close.
Instead of responding, I asked, "Mr. Harold, Ms. Lane, have you met Camille yet?"
The smile on Cindy's face froze, and she awkwardly replied, "Not yet. Maybe he's late." Her voice was soft and lacked confidence. If anything, it seemed like she was consolating herself.
It turned out that my guess had been right. Bruce was in the same boat as me.
"It appears you're more capable than I imagined, Ms. Fisher."
A cold voice reached my ears. I raised my gaze and caught Bruce's mocking glare as his eyes flickered between Jonah and me. His voice was dripping with sarcasm.
Normally, I wouldn't care. But Jonah had helped me, so I couldn't let Bruce ridicule him. I forced a smile and replied indifferently, "You flatter me, Mr. Harold. The feeling's mutual."
Bruce glanced at me before turning to Cindy. His tone softened as he asked, "Have you decided on which painting to choose?"
