Chapter 69: Clearing the Air

After they had dinner, Wyatt was ready to head back to the lab to continue his experiments, so he dropped Chloe off downstairs without going up with her. The rain had already stopped by then, but as she walked along the street, a gust of wind made her feel a bit chilly. Chloe shivered and instinctively pulled her clothes tighter around her, only to realize she was still wearing Wyatt's coat. Chloe sighed to herself, remembering how Wyatt had only been wearing a sweater when he drove her home. With the heater on in the car, he hadn’t seemed cold, but now she hoped he hadn’t caught a chill walking without his coat in this weather. Her hope wasn’t enough, though, because the next day, when she saw Wyatt, he had a stuffy nose and was sneezing constantly. Seeing this, Chloe couldn’t help but rub her own nose in sympathy. Apparently, even someone like Wyatt wasn’t immune to the cold. “Um... I took your coat to the cleaners. I’ll bring it back to you as soon as it’s ready,” Chloe said
