"Silas, you're going to drag your own company down with you if you keep going after Emmanuel," I said. "Grandpa Duncan built Larimer Group from the ground up. He'd be turning in his grave if he knew you were about to wreck it."
Silas' expression softened at the mention of Grandpa Duncan.
I was about to push him for more, but he suddenly looked up at me and said, "Grandpa's biggest wish was for us to get back together before he passed."
I might've actually bought into Silas' story if Grandpa Duncan hadn't handed me that bank card and told me what he did before he died.
"Silas, I don't care if you try to pull that guilt-trip stuff with Grandpa's last wish. I'm not getting back to you. I stopped loving you a long time ago."
"You stopped loving me? No way! You promised you'd wait for me forever," Silas snapped, growing more worked up as he got up and approached me.
"Don't come any closer!" I shot to my feet and backed away to put some space between us.
That one move pushed him over
