She explicitly told him she would not work in the chairman’s office.
Monique felt the vein on her temple throb. “Did Henry Moore ask for this? I refuse.”

Manager Harper was shocked to hear her speak the chairman’s name so casually.
It was the first time he heard anyone refer to the chairman by his name.
The chairman’s secretary was the highest position Manager Harper could think of.
He looked at Monique’s resolute expression and asked, “Then what do you suggest?” There were many positions in the company and he truly did not know what she wanted.
“I have no experience working in a company. I don’t know what I can do, but I definitely will not be the chairman’s secretary. I just want to learn,” she insisted.
Henry must have instructed the manager to treat her well. Why else would he be so hospitable?
She should be upfront about what she wanted.
